Christmas craftiness. That is all. 🙂
“There could have been no two hearts so open, no tastes so similar, no feelings so in unison” ~ Jane Austen I heard this said years ago and thought it was so sweet and simple. I’ve never read Persuasion and … Continue reading
T’was a lovely day to be out photographing, the day I took pictures of Ms. Callie Brown. We had fun traipsing all over the county, finding secret pathways through the woods and running the risk of being chased away from … Continue reading
“My heart is and always will be, yours.” I feel like this simple phrase embodies Caleb and Celia. Their love story is worth hearing, remembering. God’s design is wonderfully written; A beautiful journey through life, the deep sadness that comes … Continue reading
Out on the road/Half a world away from home
The love I used to know is gone/But that don’t stop me
From searching high and low/I wanna know where you are
So,
Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder where you are/Do I mean anything at all?
I’ll keep searching till I find/Just know you’re always on my mind.
So twinkle, twinkle little star.

That, my friends, is a little taste of Love & Valor. They are a local, up and coming band, who’s members, Jesse Fox, Darren Miles and Shea McKissack, I have had the pleasure of knowing for a while now. They are rocking the indie/folk/acoustic genre with a style that is all their own. The melodies are poignant, yet catchy; their lyrics thoughtful, spinning tales of loves lost and loves yet to come and the experiences that make our lives what they are. Their next show will be coming up in February. Check ’em out! You won’t regret it!

These guys were recording their CD up at APP State in early November, so my good friend, Amos Archer and I, hit the road. Road trip! I love some road trippin’! Amos and I had a crazy time, telling stories and laughing, while chillin to some sweet tunes. 🙂 After we arrived, we wandered the streets and alleyways around downtown Boone and found some AMAZING places. I was so inspired, I could barely contain my excitement! Although, by the end of the night, I had almost completely lost my voice. No bueno. That’s what I get for talking so much. Eventually, Amos and I headed home, (He’s such a good traveling friend!) and rolled back in to town close to 2 in the A.M. It was an incredible trip, much in part to being with good friends. It was a huge bonus that photography was involved.
This photo was actually snapped by my dear, dear friend and traveling companion on this trip, Amos Archer.
Will can always make me laugh. This boy climbed on all kinds of things during our shoot. He gave me some great angles and unique shots, no doubt, but I found myself saying, “Will… I’m not sure that’s stable…” (and I NEVER say that). I would expect no less from him. He’s been climbing on things for as long as I have known him, which has been for many years now. He cracks me up with his perspectives and random quotes. I laughed much during our shoot and we had a really great time. 🙂 All this equals a fantastic senior session, with TONS of images! It made it very difficult for me to choose my favorites, so enjoy this super long posting!
~Ciao!
Here’s to my best friend: The beautiful and incredibly talented, Sarah Costello. The girl who knows my secrets, who shares my heart. The one who encourages me to rise above my own status quo, who’s there for me when I’m sick of trying. She’s sees my flawed self and loves me anyway. We’ve cracked the weirdest jokes, have cried many a tear together and she understands my incomplete thoughts, even when I do not. She’s adventurous, brave, strong and true. She builds me up and continues to walk with me. I’m so thankful for her friendship and the gift that she is to me! She’s also a pretty dadgum good model, as you will see. 😉 I love her dearly!!!
So, this last photo was found, purely by accident. Sarah and I were leaving our *ahem* location and I thought to myself, “Bethany, you should look behind that door. See if it opens…” I followed my instincts, turned the knob, pushed the door open and … aaaaaahhhhhhh…. It was like angels were singing. 😉 Ha! It was pretty incredible, with or without the angels.
I opened my door this morning, was greeted by the suns rays touching my face and I knew it was going to be a good day! After a few, short hours at the kindergarten, I threw my stuff together and headed out to meet my next client. Chris Warren has got to be one of the most laid back people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. 🙂 I have known him for YEARS, (since he was little) and it was very cool to have the privilege of shooting his senior pictures. These few images are just a smidgen of what we did today, but it was really fun! We found a coffin, (I believe) braved the “dangers” of the river, raced the sun to the end of the day and had a good laugh over Chris’ astonishment over learning my actual age. 😉 Good times.
